Last year our community gardening project held a hugely enjoyable Dog Show in May as part of the Chelsea Fringe. For obvious reasons, we can’t all get together for such a hoot this year, but the Chelsea Fringe is still happening in a smaller, virtual way from 16th-24th May. Hurrah!!
So we’ve joined forces with the fantastic Rebel Rebel florists (Athena and Mairead above, and their team) in Hackney in E. London, to hold a virtual Chelsea Fringe Floral Crown Competition on Insatgram.
Have a listen to our latest podcast to hear all about the competition, and to hear how Rebel Rebel is coping during Covid.
The Competition
To help you on your way, Rebel Rebel have a free ‘How to make a floral crown tutorial’ on their Instagram feed so that you can conjure up a floral headdress for you dog, cat, small person or any inanimate object that can wear a crown, such as a mop head, a saucepan, a garden sculpture or a table lamp. The world is your oyster!
All you have to do is post a pic on Instagram of your dog, cat, small person or inanimate object, wearing their floral crown, with the hashtag #headyfringeflowers The deadline for entries is midnight on Monday 25th May and the winner will be announced on Friday 29th May on this blog, on the ‘Over The Garden’ Fence podcast, and on both Rebel Rebel’s and my Instagram feed.
As well as enjoying the prestige of being the winner of the Rebellious Flower Crown Competition, you’ll receive a very sought after Rebel Rebel bouquet (above) if you live in London E1, E2, E5, E8, E9, EC1, N1, N6, N7, N16, N19, NW1, NW3, NW5, NW6, NW8, W1, WC1 or WC2, plus
a a copy of my book, Veg Street, which can be posted anywhere!
Apologies if you live outside these areas or out of London. As well as basking in the glory of your fabulous winning creation, you’ll receive a choice Rebel Rebel gift as an alternative to the bouquet, plus my Veg Street book.
Love the idea of a rebel flower crown! Though having said that, my hastily assembled one last Sunday, which kept on falling down over my eye during a WI Zoom meeting would have fitted the concept quite well 😉
Hi Michell, Hope you’re keeping well. You’re almost there then with a floral crown! Really looking forward to seeing the entries! xx
